Apple’s fall 2025 iPhone event introduced four new models: iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and a brand-new ultra-thin variant called iPhone Air. All models start with 256 GB of internal storage as base.
All phones come with the A19 family of chips (standard model gets A19, Pro models get A19 Pro) which power upgraded performance especially in photography, graphics, and the new Apple Intelligence features.
Cameras
- All models now include a 48MP Fusion main camera and upgraded imaging pipelines. The standard iPhone 17 adds a 48MP Ultra Wide.
- Front camera: 18MP Center Stage, with smarter group selfies, and new framing/rotating features during video.
Pro and Pro Max also get an all-new Telephoto lens, enhanced zoom (optical and “optical-quality” digital) up to 8× in Pro Max, plus advanced video tools.
Battery & Charging
- Battery life has been improved across the lineup. For example, iPhone 17 offers up to 30 hours video playback, while Pro Max goes up to 39 hours.
- Fast charging: Pro models do 0-50% in 20 minutes with a 40 W+ USB-C adapter. The Air is a bit slower in that regime.
Other Features
- All devices run iOS 26 out of the box, with Apple Intelligence features (visual intelligence, clean up tools, etc.)
- Connectivity: 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, Thread, Ultra Wideband etc depending on the model.
- Durability: new front Ceramic Shield 2 with better scratch resistance, enhanced back protection, water/dust ratings etc.

Release Dates
- Pre-orders began September 12, 2025 in many first-wave markets.
- Official availability in many countries (US, UK, India, Singapore, etc.) starting September 19; additional countries follow (some from September 26).
eSIM vs Physical SIM
- Apple is continuing its shift to eSIM. In the US, iPhone 17, 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max are eSIM-only.
- The iPhone Air is eSIM-only worldwide.
- In other countries many models still offer both physical SIM and eSIM, depending on local regulations and carrier support.
Pricing-US & Selected Regions
- US base price for iPhone 17 (256GB) is $799 (carrier-subsidized / variant). For unlocked versions or higher storage, prices increase.
- iPhone Air starts at $999 in US for 256GB.
- Pro models: iPhone 17 Pro starts at $1,099, Pro Max at $1,199.
Other Countries
- India: iPhone 17 base is ~ ₹82,900, Pro Max 2TB close to ₹2,29,900.
- UK: base model ~ £799.
- UAE: base model ~ AED 3,399.
- Japan: base ~ ¥129,800.
- Hong Kong: base ~ HK$6,899.
Prices rise steeply in many countries due to import duties, VAT/taxes, foreign exchange. Apple’s regional pricing reflects those local cost factors.
